Oh, I almost forgot that 'Battle Hymns', and also its follow-ups 'Into Glory Ride and 'Hail To England' were already re-mastered a couple of years ago and released as the so-called “Silver editions”. And that was exactly the case with 'Battle Hymns MMXI'. I'm not a fan of old albums being re-recorded in general, because the magic of the original recordings, which just like a photo is a moment in life and represents a certain era, can never be reproduced again. Out of the blew the band also announced to be re-recording its 1981 classic 'Battle Hymns', and dignified it with a bunch of blabla about better sound and that the fans deserved the best and even more blabla. Well, on Hohlbein's initiative the book did come out in 2010 after all, but everything else has failed to occur up until this day. At the same time a certain movie, a video game and a book by German fantasy author Wolfgang Hohlbein was announced. Instead the 'Thunder In The Sky' EP was released, which was some sort of consolation.

I'm not going to bother you with every detail, but all make a short list of a few things the magnificent 'Gods Of War' album was announced as the first part of four album, the so-called 'The Asgard Saga' and the second part, which would carry the name 'Hammer Of The Gods' was planned for 2009. However, in the last couple of years, and especially after the release of the magnificent 'Thunder In The Sky' EP some things have occurred that made me DeMaio's words more and more. “Manowar is the only band that would never fuck the fans!” Joey always used to say, and I truly believed in those words. Also Joey's motivational speeches and his attitude always applied to me a lot, and so I never let them down. But the support and strength I received from the music is just indescribable and both Manowar and Manowar fans always managed to keep the feel of the metal brotherhood alive. Nima : For the greatest part of my life I've been a huge Manowar fan and have always supported the band, while the band around bassist/main composer Joey DeMaio was ignored or ridiculed by most metal heads and the metal media, due to the macho and arrogant attitude.
